Started in 2023, the painting explores possibilities of past and future selves, intertwining themes of susbtance abuse, habit and procastination, and the role they take in preventing authentic growth. The first piece features me looking into a near future, which I started in 2023. The second piece is that very stripped back and empty future, one which was very possible if I didnt get my act together. The second peace features an open door back to the old me, a door thats always open. 
 
When I started this piece, I was wishing and hoping to become a certain person, with better boundaries and relationships with everything around me, and a year on when the piece was finished, I became hte very person I had been wishing for.
